How to prevent global warming

What is up with gas prices?

Just saw something on the discovery channel about how brazil has converted to biofuels. If we are in such a crisis for gasoline and global warming, why don't we switch? I know the costs would be great but it's not like we can just buy another earth or make oil appear out of no where. Considering this, we must not be in that big of a crisis after all.

did we see how bush is vetoing domestic spending lately?

got to pay for the war i suppose, the best way we can do it i am told.i will just eat another frozen pizza and just hang on till george gets the budget straigtened out..in america again by the way george i also want the junk food removed from our store shelves and you can put this in to biofuels instead of using up your oil .oil profits may go down a little, george, but i think you will still be able to hang on to a little profit margin here.later george .bye p. s. i know you have been working hard and am sure you do mean well for the world.judge not less i be gudged right .take care and us citizens will try to eat more healthy products that don't involve the use of fossil fuel to harvest and the containers to put the food in .hay maybe less junk food wrapers and plastic containers.we want to purchase a product but lets leave the container at the store and the wrapper and put that in to biofuel.? sorry about spelling errors george but as we get older.

know how it goes.one other think, lets cut back on jet fuel and stay home and cut back on the use of the word, fight, wish seems to be used too much in conversation also lets take white sugar corn syrup, and and such things and not put it in people, and you will have less fat people and with out these sugars people will behave better with less violence and you will have more biofuels, .and less alcohol means more fuel for that car which i think we had mixed up in our capitalisim plan long ago.bye i think they called it getting gased up years ago and hitting the open road high on sugar and human energy.world power from behind the wheel of a automobile.american freedom into the osone layer we would go at a high rate of speed.marching to where ,was it again we were going? all the election chatter.from both sides of the market and the inviroment road its all oil and water over the dam so too speak. i really need a good job .would that be a living wage? .or should i want less and thus have more?

Is it time to rethink Biofuels?

Is it really a good idea to tie our food chain to our energy needs. I do not think so. newsbusters.org

what is this human addiction to sugar and to oil anyway?

why are we not using all the sugar products of the world to make biofuels.and than see the weight of human beings drop off a lot.the oil people don't want this to happen do they?. white sugar and brown sugar and corn syrup would be a good place to start, also half the cooking oils could go to fuel needs, and other arterery blocking foods half of the cereals are junk with sugar.less is more again.ha ha

A Look Into Environmentally Friendly Biofuels

With gas prices on the rise and our dependence on fossil fuels getting stronger, there has never been a better time to explore our natural fuel alternatives for your automobile and for your home.  Just what are biofuels you ask?  It is a solid, liquid or gas derived from biomass, otherwise known as recently living organisms or organism byproducts.  The most common crops used for use as biofuels are corn, soybeans, flaxseed, sugar cane and palm oil.  Which one you use will ultimately depend on what you will use it for.

One environmentally friendly biofuel is grass.  It might sound a bit weird, but Europe has been using it for decades with huge success.  Grass pellets could be one answer to our fueling cost problems.  With today’s rising energy costs, many consumers have made a conscious effort to change that way that they heat their homes.  Alternative heating methods have become very appealing; they are efficient and earth-friendly as well.  In fact, burning grass pellets emits up to 90% less greenhouse gases than oil, coal or natural gas.  They could easily be grown and pelleted by farmers and then burned in the new modified wood burning stoves that also burn corn.  Not only is it the most economical of all fuel alternatives, but it could have a huge impact on rural communities since it would be locally grown, processed and consumed.

Another alternative that has been in the news a lot is corn based fuel.  Nowadays, you can get corn pellet stoves that can heat entire households for pennies on the dollar.  They may seem expensive to some people at first, but it could prove to be an investment that will save you hundreds of dollar each year.  It is much safer for your home environment and heats just as well.  You can also purchase a conversion kit that will convert your traditional fireplace into a pellet stove.   And more recently, alfalfa stems have been being studied as a potential economical and environmentally friendly biofuel for wood pellet stoves.  I am certain we will hear more about that in the near future.

As far as your automobile goes, a safe biodiesel is made from a combination of different oils such as palm oil, vegetable oil and soybean oil.  In fact, not only are they environmentally friendly, but they have also been shown to get just as good of gas mileage as petroleum based fuels.  The hope among some law makers is that it will eventually totally replace petroleum fuels, but that remains to be seen.  In some parts of the country, ethanol fuel is becoming available, at selected gas stations, that is.  Ethanol is made from corn, is less polluting than diesel and oil based fuels, and gets better gas mileage than many of the alternatives.

However, being that the government is yet to approve many of the biofuels for wide-scale usage, you can opt to make some of your own.  For example, you can make your own biodiesel that will work in any diesel motor.  There are many sites on the web that will show you exactly how to do it for free.    It is a relatively simple process and can be made in your home kitchen and stored for up to six months.

No matter where you come from or what part of the world you live in, the truth is no secret, we need safe and affordable alternatives to the mass produced fossil fuels we rely on today.  Alternative fuels have come a long way in the recent years, within the next decade we may very well be driving cars run by the fuel of the future.
